Wild At Heart returns for new season

ITV1 has renewed South African based drama 'Wild At Heart' starring Stephen Tompkinson for a seventh series which will air next year.

Wild At Heart has been renewed for a seventh season.

The ITV1 drama - set in South Africa and starring Hayley Mills and Deon Stewardson - will focus on how veterinarians Danny (Stephen Tompkinson) and Alice Trevanion (Dawn Steele) cope when they lose their home and surgery Leopard's Den, when the show returns to screens next year.

ITV drama commissioner Steve November said: "I am delighted that 'Wild At Heart' will be returning to ITV1 in 2012. We can look forward to seeing our favourite characters in new and exciting situations and to seeing significant new characters join the mix."

Danny's teenage daughter Olivia played by Olivia Scott-Taylor and her boyfriend Thabo (Atandwa Kani) will return to the series while a new character Sean will be introduced as a rival to Danny.

Created by Ashley Pharoah and produced by Company Pictures, the 'Wild At Heart' production team plan to begin filming 10 new episodes of the show at Glen Afric on the borders of Gauteng Province and North West Province in South Africa this August.
