Fern Britton for Strictly Come Dancing?
Former 'This Morning' presenter Fern Britton has been lined up as a contestant for the forthcoming 'Strictly Come Dancing' series
Fern Britton is set to become a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 53-year-old former 'This Morning' presenter reportedly impressed show bosses when she took part in the BBC1 programme's Christmas special last December, as she has been approached to return for the full series.
A friend of the star told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Fern is very, very keen to appear on 'Strictly'."
Mother of four Fern - whose Channel 4 chat show 'Fern' was axed earlier this month - also previously took part in 'Let's Dance for Comic Relief', but she calls 'Strictly' her "family's favourite programme".
The dancing competition - which is presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly - is aiming to attract big-name stars as it bids to compete with ITV1's 'X Factor', which has seen Australian judge Dannii Mingoue replaced by N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, sparking outrage from fans.
A BBC insider said: "We think we can reinforce the wholesome values that 'Strictly' has - as opposed to all the feuding on the 'X Factor'."
