Popular reality show 'Shipwrecked' is set to return to T4 for an eighth series after a two-year hiatus.
'Shipwrecked' is returning for an eighth series.
The T4 reality show - which sees young contestants employing tactical decisions to stay on two islands to try and win a cash prize - has been recommissioned after a two-year hiatus.
The new series is set to be aired later on this year and will be shown in 15 hour-long episodes.
Applicants have already begun attending casting sessions in the hope they will be one of the lucky few who will be sent to the Cook Islands near New Zealand, although it is not yet known which format the new episodes will take.
Past series have seen contestants split into two teams called Sharks and Tigers who battle one another for a prize and the last episode in 2009 showed an individual - Greg Jones - win £70,000.
Neil McCallum, head of T4 and Music said:"As one of the pioneering reality shows, 'Shipwrecked' has always proved to be a firm favourite amongst T4 fans. So it's great to be bringing the show back this autumn, with its refreshed format and new back to basics approach to island life."
Executive Producer Tayte Simpson added: "The rules and format will be kept tightly under wraps, but we can say that applicants should be prepared for the experience to be tougher than ever. Yes it's paradise, but this is no summer holiday."
