Richard and Judy rule out new chatshow
Richard and Judy insist they have no interest in fronting another TV chat show together
Richard and Judy would never front their own show again.
The husband-and-wife presenting team - best known for their work on ITV's flagship daytime show 'This Morning', which they hosted from 1988 to 2001 - insist they wouldn't want to face savage criticism of their work, and Judy claims she is happier now she is out of the spotlight.
She said: "I am happy to be out of the limelight. I never want to host my own show again. It got to the point where I'd interviewed the same person 25 times!"
Richard added: "With or without Judy, I don't want to go back to TV five days a week. The way Fern Britton's show has been attacked reminded us of the terrible criticism we had in the early days of 'This Morning' and on our chat show. It's horrible for her and is one of the reasons why we're not prepared to go back to that kind of show."
Richard also revealed he has turned down a "serious" offer to take part in 'Strictly Come Dancing' because it would take too much time, while Judy wouldn't take part in the show due to a number of health issues.
Richard explained in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: "They ask every year. And they made their most serious, formal offer this year but I said no.
"I'd end up galumphing round the dance floor and it would be embarrassing. But the reason I've actually said no is you have to give up three months of your time and it sucks you dry."
Judy added: "I have two extremely wonky knees after rupturing my cruciate ligament. Doing 'Strictly' would destroy me.
"I can get around fine, but dancing would mess me up for months. I've also had cateracts and a detached retina, so it's an absolute no for me."
