John Stape's plan to run away from 'Coronation Street' will be foiled when the body of Colin Fishwick threatens to re-emerge in the ITV1 soap.

'Coronation Street's John Stape's getaway plan will be foiled this week when Colin Fishwick's body threatens to re-emerge.

The hapless killer has been planning to disappear from the street with his wife Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) but John - who covered up Colin's death from a heart attack and stole his identity - finds his plans are severely disrupted when Owen Armstrong's (Ian Puleston-Davies) construction company starts work where Colin's body is hidden.

Graeme Hawley, who plays John, said: "At this point John would have to be completely delusional to believe that there's any hope of a happy-ever-after for him. But he keeps trying to find some way out of it. "

The actor also reveals that John will go so far as to get a job at Owen's company to prevent Colin's body from being found at the factory site they are working on.

He told Inside Soap magazine: "His brilliant plan to stop Colin's body from being discovered is to get a job at Owen's construction company, and then use every single bit of his energy to delay the work and hold them up as much as possible.

"As soon as it gets dark, John's going to go into the factory on his own and get the body out. Then, when the team comes in the next day, Colin's corpse will be gone and everything will be fine. It's a brilliant, flawless plan. What could possibly go wrong?"
