Distraught 'Enders Jack turns to Roxy
EastEnders' distraught Jack Branning will turn to his former flame and sister-in-law Roxy Mitchell as he struggles to come to terms with the baby swap scandal
Distraught Jack Branning will turn to Roxy Mitchell as he struggles to come to terms with the baby swap scandal.
The 'EastEnders' hunk - played by Scott Maslen - is finding it increasingly hard to cope following the shocking revelation that his disturbed wife Ronnie (Samantha Womack) had swapped their dead baby son James' body for that of Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) tot on New Year's Eve (31.12.10).
An insider explained: "Jack isn't thinking straight. One minute he had the perfect life with his family, and the next they were cruelly snatched away from him. He's looking for someone to cling on to."
When Jack decides to change the name on the headstone of his real son - who was initially believed to be Kat and Alfie's (Shane Richie) son Tommy - he asks Roxy (Rita Simmons) to accompany him to the cemetery.
The 'EastEnders' source added to Inside Soap magazine: "She's hesitant at first, as she feels it should be Ronnie going with him. But with her sibling in prison and Jack clearly in need of someone to lean on, Roxy eventually agrees to go along."
However, when the duo - who have a daughter, Amy, together - return to Albert Square, Roxy gets the shock of her life when Jack misreads kindness for romance, and attempts to kiss the feisty blonde.
While he eventually sees sense when the shocked singleton turns him down, it could be that Jack sees his sister-in-law as more than just a shoulder to cry on.
