Leona Lewis to judge new talent show
Leona Lewis is among several stars who will serve as a guest judge on new TV singing competition 'Platinum Hit'
Leona Lewis is to be a guest judge on a new reality TV musical contest.
The 'Bleeding Love' hitmaker - who shot to fame after winning UK programme 'The X Factor' in 2006 - will take a seat on the panel of new songwriting competition 'Platinum Hit'.
The programme - which will be hosted by singer/songwriter Jewel - will see 12 aspiring musicians write and perform different songwriting genres each week.
As well as Leona, other celebrities lined for guest stints as judges alongside regular panelists Kara DioGuardi and music executive Keith Naftaly are Taio Cruz, Natasha Bedingfield, Donna Summer and Ryan Tedder.
While Simon Cowell's new 'X Factor' USA has a $5 million prize, the winner of 'Platinum Hit' will get a publishing deal and record contract worth just $100,000.
The show starts on May 30 on America's Bravo channel.
'Platinum Hit' is not the only show launching which looks set to be a rival to 'The X Factor' and 'American Idol'.
Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine are preparing for the launch of 'The Voice', which sees contestants judged by the trio purely on their voices in a blind audition.
The show - which will be hosted by Carson Daly - launches in the US later this month.
