Kylie to break David Platt's heart?
Paula Lane admits she worries her 'Coronation Street' alter ego Kylie Turner will ''break the heart'' of David Platt.
Paula Lane hopes her 'Coronation Street' alter ego stays with David Platt.
The 25-year-old actress plays scheming Kylie Turner in the ITV1 soap and with her character set to be offered £1,000 by her fiance's mother Gail McIntyre (Helen Worth) not to go through with the wedding, she is worried her relationship won't run smoothly.
She said: "I hope she doesn't break David's heart - but the writers can come up with anything they want."
Kylie and Gail have clashed repeatedly since David (Jack P. Shepherd) announced his intentions to wed, and Paula revealed her character even chooses an outrageous wedding dress to annoy the Weatherfield matriarch.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "Like David, she flies by the seat of her pants. Gail's made it clear she doesn't think Kylie is good enough for her son. But she's a chancer and wants to have fun.
"Kylie and David are so full of lust. She ends up picking a saucy red and black Moulin Rouge-style tutu just to wind Gail up. She's got the bottle for anything."
Paula admits playing Kylie can be difficult because she is so outrageous, but she finds her work "fun".
She added: "Kylie is volatile and you never know what she'll do next. It's difficult because you can't imagine how she will react to things. But boy, is it fun to play!"
