EastEnders cast throw royal street party
The 'EastEnders' cast will celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton by throwing a street party, with footage of the actual occasion superimposed onto TV screens in the Queen Vic pub.
'EastEnders' residents will throw a street party to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The prince will marry at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29, and while the BBC One soap has already recorded special party scenes to mark the occasion, technicians will add footage from the actual wedding to the TV at the Queen Vic pub.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "There was no way the script writers could ignore the street party fever sweeping the nation. 'EastEnders' was always going to mark the royal wedding with a bang. It's going to be a very bright and happy episode."
Although it will be difficult to incorporate footage from the wedding into scenes that have already been shot, show bosses are determined to give the programme a live feel.
The source added: "Logistically that's quite hard as technicians have to add it into the scenes that have already been shot. But the effect will be amazing and give a real sense of the cast being there."
There is set to be further happiness on the show when Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb (Ricky Norwood) gets caught up in the wedding fever and proposes to Mercy Olubunmi (Bunmi Mojekwu).
