Ronnie Branning jailed over baby swap
EastEnders' controversial baby swap storyline is to come to a climax next month when Ronnie Branning is jailed for her horrific crimes
EastEnders' controversial baby swap storyline is to end with Ronnie Branning jailed.
The shocking plot - which caused thousands of distraught viewers to complain to the BBC - will reportedly come to a climax next month when disturbed mum Ronnie (Samantha Womack) hands herself in to police.
After snatching Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) baby Tommy on New Year's Eve (31.12.10) when she discovered her own son James lifeless in his cot, Ronnie has been passing the tot off as her own.
However, when her guilt gets too much to bear, she confesses all about the horrific crime to police and is immediately led away.
Although Kat and hubby Alfie (Shane Richie) are initially thrilled to be reunited with their baby son, Ronnie is conveniently let out on bail on the day of Tommy's christening and looks set to cause havoc for the residents of Albert Square.
An 'EastEnders' insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Ronnie gets out of bail on the day of Tommy's christening, and is in Albert Square as celebrations kick off in the Vic.
"The fact she is back in is going to have huge repercussions for that day and she is likely to come face-to-face with Kat."
