Duran Duran are to celebrate their career with an ITV1 special.

The 'Rio' hitmakers - made up of Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor - will perform on the special 'One Night Only' show in their honour, and Simon confessed he was looking forward to singing to the live audience.

He said: "We are very excited to be a part of the 'One Night Only' series as we really like the format.

"We always enjoy performing in front of a live audience and this will be the first opportunity for us to play some songs from our new album, 'All You Need Is Now'."

Christine Bleakley will present the one-off programme, which Simon admits he has been rehearsing for weeks.

He said: "We've spent the last couple of weeks in our rehearsal room working on the arrangements for all the new material and are looking forward to the show very much."

In addition to performances, the show will also highlight special never-before-seen footage of the band.

The foppish 80s yacht-botherers return for their first full UK tour in seven years (although true fans will still be drying out their shoulder pads following their rain-soaked appearance at Edinburgh Castle in 2009), with a new album to punt.
