Comedy Dave has slammed 'Dancing On Ice' judge Jason Gardiner as "hurtful and disrespectful".
The Radio 1 DJ - who was eliminated from the ITV1 show on Sunday night (13.02.11), despite receiving his highest score to date in the competition - believes Jason "overstepped the mark" during his on-air spat with head coach Karen Barber when he told the skating expert her opinion didn't matter.
He explained: "I think Jason went way too far and overstepped the mark completely. There is an element of the show that is pantomime but he was out of line. Jason plays Mr. Nasty, but what he said went beyond banter and was hurtful, disrespectful and rude.
"Karen was clearly very upset by it. It was a horrible thing for him to say and completely uncalled for."
However, Comedy Dave - real name David Vitty - thinks that without the famously spiteful judge, 'Dancing On Ice' would be "toothless and characterless".
When asked whether Jason should be sacked for his comments, Dave added to new! magazine: "Absolutely not. He's good on the show. You always need conflict and banter and I believe that should remain. The show would be toothless and characterless without big personalities like Jason."
