Boy George thinks he would be a ''great'' judge on 'The X Factor', although he's not sure the show can handle him

Boy George wants to become a judge on 'The X Factor'.

The flamboyant 'Karma Chameleon' hitmaker thinks he would be "great" on the ITV1 show, although he doesn't know if the current judges would be able to "handle" him, as he can be demanding when it comes to wardrobe requirements.

He explained: "There was a rumour last year about me doing 'X Factor' but I don't know if they would want me. I would be great, but I'm not sure if they could handle me."

Referring to glamorous judge Cheryl Cole, he added: "I'd do it, but it depends how much they would pay me and if I could have Cheryl's wardrobe budget."

The former Culture Club singer also revealed he would be keen to shake up the show - which is currently judged by Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue - and change the type of songs hopefuls sing.

He added to Channel 5's OK! TV: "The problem with 'The X Factor' is that you have great people on there, but they are sometimes given the wrong songs. Sometimes it can be quite cruel but you have to remember, it's a game show."

Rumours are currently circulating that the judging panel could feature new stars when 'The X Factor' returns this summer, as Simon may not be able to appear for the full series while he concentrates on launching the show in the US.
