Dancing On Ice bosses reveal shocking new twist
Dancing On Ice's celebrity contestants will be forced to vote one another off the show in a shocking new twist to the format of the series
Dancing On Ice's celebrity contestants will be forced to vote one another off the show in a cruel new twist.
While at the moment, the two stars with the lowest proportion of the public vote will perform a skate-off for the judging panel - Emma Bunton, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins - the changes will mean their peers will be forced to reveal who they think should get the chop.
However, not only will they be responsible for the fate of whoever gets sent home, the celebrities will also be required to give a reason as to why they think their chosen contestant should be eliminated.
The controversial new changes have already caused uproar in the 'Dancing On Ice' camp, with Kerry Katona and 'Loose Women' panellist Denise Welch initially refusing to adhere to the new rules.
They reportedly told producers: "This isn't fair, we're not doing it. You can't make us s**g each other off."
Meanwhile, rapper Vanilla Ice joked that ITV1 bosses had turned them into "haters" rather than "skaters".
According to one 'Dancing On Ice' insider, the changes are hoped to make the series more catty than ever, with backstage tensions being played out live on air.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "They have all quietly been keeping their thoughts about their rivals to themselves. Now they will be forced to say what they think and look them in the eye while they're doing it. We've told them they can't mince their words and they have to give an honest opinion.
"Hopefully, some of the simmering tension that we've all been feeling will rise to the surface and they will get really b****y. We know that some of them have strong feelings about each other as we've heard them all b***hing behind the scenes."
