Intricacies with healthy Scottish/nautical flavour
Anne Doble is a self-taught artist/designer-maker, running her own business, Artinkulate, from her home in Portknockie in the North East of Scotland. Prior to this she had a long career in retail management and latterly qualified as an anaesthetic assistant in operating theatres. A nervous breakdown in 2007 led her down the path of relying on her artistic talents to make a living.
Her work includes intricately and individually decorated name plaques, hand decorated trinket boxes, mini frames and glamorous keepsake magnet tiles with a hefty lean towards emotional empathy. There’s a healthy Scottish/nautical flavour to her work, which is also liberally peppered with what she describes as her ‘twisted wit’.
She is equally influenced by both her own shifting states of mind and external moods and atmospheres such as the transience of the sea and sky, helped of course by the glorious sea view from her window.
