Jonathan Ross planning magic attack on America
Jonathan Ross is hoping to crack America with a new magic show, in which contestants will attempt to impress professional magicians by performing their own tricks.
Jonathan Ross is planning to crack America with a TV magic show.
The presenter and talk show host is due to fly over to Los Angeles next month to film a pilot episode with magicians Penn and Teller.
The series, entitled 'Penn and Teller: Fool Us' will have amateur conjurers performing tricks to try and win the chance to perform alongside the duo in Las Vegas.
Jonathan has been waiting for his chance to launch his career Stateside since he ended his £18 million contract with the BBC in July, and hopes his new programme, which is being made by production company September Films and is being launched in the UK on ITV1 on January 7, will impress US audiences.
He is reported to be encouraged by the success of 'American Idol' producer and 'So You Think You Can Dance' judge Nigel Lythgoe and his friend Simon Cowell.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "September Films are taking Jonathan to the US to pilot his ITV show and they think he can be a star over there.
"They have big plans for him, and they think his type of presenting will go down really well. Magic is also being seen as the next big thing."
