Emmerdale to welcome new character
The cast of 'Emmerdale' are to welcome a new character to the soap, which could spell trouble for Debbie Dingle
Sparks will fly between Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle and new character Cameron Murray.
The sexy stranger - played by former 'The Bill' actor Dominic Power - will turn up out of the blue and announce he is Debbie's (Charley Webb) mysterious ex-boyfriend from the time she spent in Jersey.
However, the feisty female - who only recently returned to the village - is far from pleased to see her former flame, and is worried he may unveil dark secrets about the couple's complicated past.
Dominic said: "Cameron is a strong, sharp-tongued and defiant character. He is essentially a good guy but has a darker, edgier side to him. I can't wait to start filming in the new year and the cast have already been really welcoming."
Meanwhile, the ITV1 soap's executive producer Steve November admitted the next year will be particularly dramatic for Debbie and newcomer Cameron, whose first scenes will be screened in March.
He explained: "We are delighted to welcome Dominic to the cast. 2011 is going to be a dramatic year for Debbie Dingle and Cameron will be integral to her story."
