Matt Cardle is keen to write his own songs.
The 27-year-old 'X Factor' winner - who is hoping his first single 'Many Of Horror' scores the Christmas number one - explained while he is prepared to work hard to ensure his music is a success, he needs a break to allow his voice to recover from the illness which has dogged him throughout the competition.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Really, I need a quick break, and my voice is shot to pieces because I haven't had any time to rest it properly. But don't get me wrong, I'm planning to work my a**e off.
"I don't want to wait around before I get a record out there, I want to strike while the iron is hot. I hope I can get some of my own songs on it, but I haven't had the chance to run them past the record company bosses. Actually I haven't had five minutes to do anything."
Meanwhile, eccentric Brazilian singer Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho has vowed to become the biggest star 'The X Factor' has ever produced.
He said: "Time will tell where we will all be next year - but I will be the most popular and most famous person who has ever been on the show. Matt has done very well but, at the end of the day, I will make more money."
