Pauline Quirke signs new Emmerdale contract
Pauline Quirke has signed a new 12-month £100,000 'Emmerdale' contract after playing Hazel Rhodes in the ITV1 soap for just a few months
Pauline Quirke has been given a new 'Emmerdale' contract.
The former 'Birds of a Feather' star joined the ITV1 soap in July and although she was only supposed to be playing Hazel Rhodes for a few months, she has now been handed a 12-month £100,000 deal.
'Emmerdale' boss Steve November said: "Pauline has been a real asset to the show and we're delighted she has agreed to stay. Next year is going to be dramatic for Hazel in many unexpected ways."
Pauline added: "I've had a great time and was really thrilled to be asked to stay on longer."
After joining 'Emmerdale' earlier in the year, Pauline revealed she burst into tears because she was so overwhelmed when she first visited the set.
She said: "Last Wednesday was my first scene. It was in the village - that village is unbelievable. I cried when I saw The Woolpack.
"My mum absolutely loved 'Emmerdale' and so to get on set and actually see that Woolpack, it was actually really emotional so I had a little cry. But then I pulled myself together!"
