Katie Waissel abandoned by Cheryl
Katie Waissel has claimed mentor Cheryl Cole couldn't help her deal with her ''horrendous'' experience on 'The X Factor' because she had ''her own problems''.
Katie Waissell claims Cheryl Cole was unable to help her deal with her "horrendous" 'X Factor' experience.
The controversial 24-year-old - who was subjected to boos and taunts during her time in the ITV1 show - admitted to "crying her eyes out" as the public turned against her, but felt unable to lean on Cheryl because she had "her own problems".
She revealed: "Cheryl and I didn't have long chats - she would just advise me not to read the papers and say she had had a hard time too.
"She was nice but she had her own problems. This show has been tough for her."
The aspiring star explained while she would like to stay in touch with the 'Promise This' singer, she felt closer to her "favourite" judge Louis Walsh.
Katie said: "She's very focused, which you have to be. I don't have her mobile number so I don't know if we will keep in touch. I admire her.
"But Louis was my absolute favourite. He gave me his mobile number and I'll definitely keep in touch. He understood how awful it was for me to be painted in a way I could do nothing about."
Meanwhile, the kooky blonde confessed the only contestants she was close to on 'The X Factor' were finalist Rebecca Ferguson and Irish diva Mary Byrne.
She added to Grazia magazine: "There were two people who I liked and trusted - Mary and Rebecca. They are the loveliest people. Apart from that I was on my own and it was terrifying."
