'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' runner up Shaun Ryder originally wanted to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing' until BBC bosses banned him because of his swearing.
Shaun Ryder originally wanted to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The Happy Mondays frontman - who finished second place to Stacey Solomon in 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' on Saturday night (04.12.10) - revealed he had planned to appear on the dancing show until BBC bosses pulled the plug because of his foul-mouthed antics.
He explained: "Producers wanted me to do 'Strictly...' and I said yes, but the head of the BBC ruled that I couldn't be trusted live on Saturday primetime.
"I have got a naughty mouth but I wouldn't have sworn on the live shows."
Meanwhile, the musician admitted he has some "ridiculous" nights out planned with former 'EastEnders' star Nigel Havers, who became his firm friend in the jungle.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Nigel is a great bloke. All this class b*******s means d**k to me. I have some ridiculous nights planned with Nigel. He is a rocker."
The actor was equally complimentary about Shaun, explaining he is keen to "go on the road" with him.
Nigel said: "He's a fantastic guy and when I talked to him about his life he said, 'I can't tell you very much because most of its illegal', but I'm definitely going to one of his gigs - I want to go on the road with him."
