One Direction 'wouldn't have succeeded as soloists'
'X Factor' boyband One Direction don't they would have been as successful in the ITV1 show if they had continued as soloists
One Direction wouldn't have got as far on 'The X Factor' if they were soloists.
The boyband - who were put together by Simon Cowell from five individual acts before the judges' houses stage of the competition - think they wouldn't have reached the semi-finals if they each had gone it alone.
Harry Styles exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "There's no way we could have done this without one another. The competition has been really strong this year and it was tough to get this far.
"I think we have a special something to bring to the competition as a group, which perhaps we couldn't have done by ourselves."
The 16-year-old singer - who is joined in the band by Louis Tomlinson, 18, Niall Horan, 17, Liam Payne, 17, and Zayn Malik, also 17 - admitted while the group can't complain at their new-found sex symbol status, being propelled into overnight stardom has been a "strange" experience.
Harry added: "It's brilliant and a little bit strange. One minute you're just a normal guy going about your daily life and the next minute you're winning polls, signing autographs and that sort of thing. You definitely can't complain though."
However, there is one member of the group who receives more attention from the ladies than the others.
Niall revealed: "Harry is definitely the most successful with women - it must be those curly locks making the girls swoon so much."
