'X Factor' hopeful Cher Lloyd has a therapist on call 24 hours a day as she struggles to cope with the pressures of the ITV1 show
'X Factor' hopeful Cher Lloyd has a therapist on call 24 hours a day.
The 17-year-old singer - who was booed by the audience on Sunday night's (28.11.10) show when it was announced she had got through to the semi-finals - tearfully stormed out of a secret midweek concert in tears and now she is being given professional help as producers are worried about her state of mind.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Cher is struggling again. She keeps threatening to quit the show, saying if it wasn't for her contract she would be out. The therapist has her own room in the house and is on call 24/7. It's hoped that Cher can be calmed down in time for Saturday's (04.12.10) live show.
"She's had a series of strops and rants and has been a bit of a nightmare. The patience of some staff has finally run out."
As well as having a therapist on call, Cher also revealed how she has been given heavy minders after receiving death threats.
She said: "It gets scary sometimes because you get people right in your face. My heart pounds a little bit but I'm going to be alright. It's about time people started not to take things so seriously. I'm not going to die, no one's going to kill me. I'm being protected by tough people."
