'Hollyoaks' is to welcome three new additions to its cast.

Spoilt and beautiful Liberty - played by Abi Phillips - will descend upon the Channel 4 soap next week alongside hunky fiance Ethan (Craig Vye), and the pair will quickly become embroiled in a love triangle with troubled teen mum Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter).

Despite Theresa and Liberty hitting it off almost as soon as the newcomer arrives in the village, their friendship is put to the test when the feisty blonde falls for policeman Ethan without realising he is already engaged to Liberty.

A spokesperson said: "Sparks literally fly between the youngsters and there is an undeniable chemistry, but with Theresa still holding the secret of being Calvin's murderer and Ethan being the local PC Plod, their budding relationship spells danger.

"When Theresa discovers that Ethan is engaged to her new best friend Liberty, Theresa wonders if Ethan's feelings are genuine or if she'll be just another notch on his bed post."

Meanwhile, mysterious Irishman Pete - played by Peter Mitchell - is set to arrive in 'Hollyoaks' in January.

However, his arrival doesn't spell good news for everyone, as he brings with him plenty of baggage and dark secrets bad boy Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) could do without.
