Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho is backing Rebecca Ferguson to win 'The X Factor'.

The eccentric 54-year-old - who narrowly missed out on a place in the ITV1 show's semi-final - explained as well as having a "heart of gold", the Liverpudlian singer has a unique voice.

He said: "Rebecca is lovely - she is such a pure soul. The thing with Rebecca is that she is absolutely immaculate and she has a heart of gold.

"Nobody else has a voice like that. I always thought of her as the winner of 'X Factor'."

The former teacher also admitted he will always have a special "thankfulness" to mentor Louis Walsh, who put him through to the live stages of the competition as his wildcard contestant.

Wagner added to the Dudley Express and Star newspaper: "I have special thankfulness to Louis as I was his wildcard, and Simon gave me so many compliments. I'm going on tour and going to do gigs with the show - I have achieved so much. I never dreamed I would come so far.

"It's crazy. Last time I went to the supermarket I couldn't even pick up some cheese off the shelves because everyone was coming up to me for autographs and photos. Even police are stopping me to get photos."
