Cher Lloyd puts on a "hard-faced" persona for her 'X Factor' performances.
The 17-year-old hopeful - who is through to the semi-finals stage of the ITV1 competition on Saturday (04.11.10) - admitted she keeps herself to herself and isn't actually as confident as her demeanour would suggest.
She said: "I'm doing my best and working my hardest. I try to spend time on my own to work over and over and over again on my songs. I sit on my own in my room and just work non-stop on the song.
"People can sometimes think I'm quite hard-faced but I'm not - that's just my performance. When I am onstage that's how I am but I'm not like that offstage. I'm quiet and I keep myself to myself."
The aspiring star explained while she knows she has a lot of work to do if she wants to reach the show's final, it's "not the end of the world" if she doesn't win 'The X Factor'.
Cher added to X Magazine: "As it gets closer to the final it gets more intense. You feel the pressure but I'm just trying to be chilled out as much as I can and I realise that whatever happens, it's not the
end of the world. I have a lot of work to do.
"It's the most unbelievable experience, and I'm going to make being here work, whatever happens. Every week, every minute I'm here I'm working towards that time I get on that stage on Saturday night. I couldn't be in a better place to do what I want to do and I'm going to make the most of this. I'm not going to give up."
