Katie Waissel is confused as to how she caused so much controversy on 'The X Factor'.
The 24-year-old singer - who was eliminated from the talent search show last night (28.11.10) after receiving the lowest proportion of the public vote - admitted while she was "proud" of herself for getting so far in the competition, she has "no idea" why she caused such extreme reactions from fans of the series.
She said: "I felt I'd achieved so much by getting that far, I was really proud of myself. I wouldn't change anything for the world. I was myself throughout the whole competition.
"I've definitely learned a lot over the past 10 weeks or so but I've got no idea why I caused such controversy."
After controversially backing Rebecca Ferguson and Mary Byrne - rather than 17-year-old Cher Lloyd, who was also in Cheryl Cole's mentoring group - to win the competition, Katie confessed she has "grown up" during her time on the show.
She told ITV1's 'Daybreak': "I would like to write and I would love to continue to perform and to sing and really just take this opportunity and run with it and thank everyone for supporting me as well.
"I am looking forward to going on the road. I have grown up a lot, it has been a really big adventure."
