Cher Lloyd 'not a diva'
'X Factor' hopeful Cher Lloyd insists she is not a diva and puts her emotional outbursts down to striving for ''perfection''
Cher Lloyd insists she is not a diva.
The 17-year-old 'X Factor' hopeful - who has been criticised for being demanding and stroppy by her fellow contestants, as well as judge Louis Walsh - admitted her strive for perfection often leads to "passionate" outbursts.
She explained: "I would say I'm passionate. I want to do really well and I do get upset sometimes, because I won't stop until I am perfect."
"I enjoy working with Cheryl - she picks up a lot. That's what I need, not someone who is going to say everything's great. She has always said I need to look like myself, that if I don't feel comfortable I must speak up. And I agree - I'm so not a puppet." Cher - who narrowly avoided elimination from the ITV1 show last week after landing herself in the bottom two alongside Paije Richardson - also claimed she is never adversely affected by the judges' criticism of her performances, and insists negative comments only drive her to do better.
She added: "It just makes me want it even more. I love a bit of negativity, it drives me. Anyway I'm sure the judges don't even mean half the things they say - it is a TV show after all.
"The best advice Cheryl has given me is, 'Keep your chin up - don't let anybody know they've got to you or they'll kick you even harder.' "
