Matt Cardle thinks Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho will win 'The X Factor'.
The 27-year-old singer - who is one of the favourites to emerge victorious from the talent competition - confessed he fears is own chances of winning the ITV1 show are being squandered by the popularity of the controversial Brazilian, who he describes as "a joke".
Matt told The Sun newspaper: "It would be fun to win, I'd like that - but I have a terrible feeling that b****y Wagner is going to win now. It is a joke."
However, the latest comments from the aspiring star - who has publicly slammed the 54-year-old hopeful on a number of occasions - are unlikely to bother Wagner, as he recently said Matt and fellow critic Louis Tomlinson from One Direction are just making him "more famous".
He explained: "I think it's very sad that instead of talking about themselves, they are making me even more famous. When they came to insult me in person all they wanted was for me to lose my temper. I've never done anything to them and I don't vote for myself."
Meanwhile, avid Wagner fans have been waiting at the Hertfordshire hotel he is now staying in after leaving the 'X Factor' house last week in a hope of catching a glimpse of the kooky star.
An insider explained: "Fans think that if they sit in the bar long enough they'll get to hang out with him. But most of the time he just chills in his room."
