'X Factor' hopeful Mary Byrne has lost her voice.
The 50-year-old singer has been struck down by a throat infection, while has left her unable to sing, so she is off to see a doctor in the hope she can recover in time for Saturday's (27.11.10) show.
A source said: "She could not even finish rehearsing her song yesterday (24.11.10). She is off to the doctor to try and get it all sorted."
Mary - who was also stricken with laryngitis at the beginning of last month - has had a tough time on 'The X Factor' recently and her family were flown to London in a bid to stop her from quitting the ITV1 competition .
The supermarket worker was said to be on the edge of breakdown after suffering from sleepless nights due to the constant pressures so show bosses flew out her Dublin-based 25-year-old daughter Debbie, her brother, and two work colleagues in a bid to help her.
Debbie said: "Mum is fed up and homesick, all the contestants are younger than her and the only person her age is Wagner - God help her."
