Cher Lloyd broke down in tears after finding herself in the bottom two on 'X Factor' on Sunday night (21.11.10).
The 17-year-old hopeful had to sing for survival alongside Paije Richardson and although the judges chose to save her, Cher was inconsolable afterwards, telling her friends and family she can no longer win the show because she no longer has the public backing.
A source said: "Cher was devastated to be in the sing-off. She knows no one has ever won after being in the bottom two. She told her family it felt like her dream was over."
Cher was supposed to start the sing-off on Sunday night but Paije had to go first because she was lying on the floor crying.
Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger has blasted judge Simon Cowell for saving Katie Waissel ahead of Adian Grimshaw on the previous weekend's show.
The Pussycat Dolls star - who stood in for Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole in the audition stages - felt the music mogul should have opted to reprieve Aiden because Katie had already been in the bottom two three times before.
She said: "I was shocked at Simon. He is normally so in tune with the public."
