Cheryl Cole angers Simon with Wagner questioning
Cheryl Cole has angered head 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell with her decision to personally address contestant Wagner on Saturday's (20.11.10) show.
Cheryl Cole has angered Simon Cowell with her decision to address 'X Factor' contestant Wagner personally on the show.
The judge has defended her decision to question the Brazilian singer on comments he made in the press saying she was "a girl from a council estate who got lucky" during Saturday's (20.11.10) live show - but Simon feels her conduct was unprofessional.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Simon has made it clear he doesn't think the judges should be attacking the contestants on the show in a personal way.
"You are supposed to comment on the performance and the singing, so he didn't like that Cheryl got personal. Things were tense after the show, Simon wasn't happy and let her know."
Cheryl, 27, however, remains defiant, and said she isn't worried about the repercussions of her actions.
She reportedly told friends: "There is nothing wrong with being from a council estate and he used the term in such a negative way. I had to say something to him because I am not ashamed of my roots.
"I don't care what people think, I had to answer back.
"I still have friends where I grew up and go back there. I did get lucky, but Wagner should know how lucky he is too."
Wagner was saved by viewer votes in last night's (21.11.10) show, while Cheryl's act, Cher Lloyd, found herself in the bottom two and had to compete against Paije Richardson in the sing off, which she later won, to keep her place on the show.
'The X Factor' returns to ITV1 on Saturday (27.11.10).
