Chris Evans is to return to Channel 4 to host an extreme sports TV show.
The former 'TFI Friday' presenter - who was originally scrapped from the channel 10 years ago when his viewing figures fell - will front new celebrity sports programme 'Famous and Fearless' alongside racing pundit Clare Balding.
An insider explained: "This year Chris has revived his career by taking over Radio 2's Breakfast Show from Sir Terry Wogan and landing the Friday night spot on 'The One Show'.
"Bosses thought it would be a good time to get him back on Channel 4 and this looked like the perfect show for him."
The new show - which believed to be featuring comedian Rufus Hound and former 'EastEnders' actress Kacey Ainsworth - will see eight famous faces battle it out in a series of extreme sports in an attempt to win money for charities.
Chris told The Sun newspaper: "'Famous and Fearless' will be brilliant. Simply a huge, ambitious show with celebrities, monster trucks and an arena crowd. What's not to like?"
Filming for the six-part series will begin on January 6 at Liverpool's Echo Arena.
