Shaun Ryder 'forced' to sign up for I'm A Celeb...
Shaun Ryder has revealed his wife forced him to sign up for 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' as she's a ''big fan'' of the ITV1 show
Shaun Ryder's wife made him sign up for 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!'
The Happy Mondays frontman - who is reportedly being monitored round the clock by ITV1 bosses to make sure he doesn't swear live on the show - has admitted when he was first offered to take part in the jungle-based reality series he thought it was one of his wife's "sick jokes".
He explained: "My missus made me sign up for the show. My wife. She wanted me to do it because she's a big fan of 'I'm A Celebrity...'. We all watch the show together as a family, so I think this one of my wife's sick jokes.
"When I was offered it, I immediately said, 'No way'. I always try to turn these things down, but she insisted that I do it."
The 48-year-old rocker - who was famously banned from Channel 4 after swearing live on TV - also revealed fans will see a very different side to his personality in the jungle, as he is now a "family man".
Shaun added to Digital Spy: "I've got the kids watching, so I'm not going to swear in the jungle. I've got two little girls, so Daddy won't be swearing. I'm going to be very nice in the jungle. People are going to see a new side to me. I'm a 48-year-old family man now."
