Pulp to headline Isle Of Wight festival
Pulp have been announced as headliners of the Isle Of Wight festival in the UK next June, alongside Kings Of Leon.
Pulp will headline the UK's Isle Of Wight festival.
The 'Common People' group announced last week they are reforming with their original line up, and have today (26.11.10) been confirmed as one of the three headliners of next year's Isle Of Wight festival.
Promoter John Giddings said: "When I heard they were reforming, I had to get them, they are the soundtrack of a generation."
The group - comprising of Jarvis Cocker, Nick Banks, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber - released a statement about their reformation, saying: "Pulp have decided to get together and play some concerts next summer. They'll be playing songs from all periods of their career. Yes, that means your favourites."
Isle Of Wight kicks off the festival season in the UK and will be held between June 10 and 12 next year. Pulp will headline the middle night of the event, while Kings Of Leon will top the bill on the first night. The remaining headliner and other acts are yet to be announced.
Pulp have also been announced as headliners of the Wireless festival, also in England, which takes place in July in London.
The group are also expected to announce further dates they will play across Europe next summer.
The Isle of Wight Festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight, and tickets will be available from November 19 from a number of outlets including www.isleofwightfestival.com.
