Katie Waissel in hot water over US record deal
Katie Waissel may have landed herself in trouble with 'X Factor' bosses after secretly appearing on a US album.
Katie Waissel could find herself in trouble with 'The X Factor' after secretly appearing on a US album.
ITV1 bosses are believed to have spent thousands getting the controversial hopeful - who narrowly escaped elimination from the ITV1 show last night (14.11.10) after landing herself in the bottom two for the fourth time - out of a deal with Chamberlain Records.
However, a track featuring the voice of the 24-year-old singer was released by the US-based record company last week on a new album, which could potentially land Katie in trouble with 'X Factor' chiefs for breaking contractual rules.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Katie is supposed to have severed all ties with Chamberlain - but it's nonsense. She's still in contact with them and they're still releasing music by her.
"She might have hoped this would slip under the radar, but it's a bit foolish."
However, despite the controversy over the track, the hopeful - who has previously attempted to find success in the US under the names Katie Vogel and Lola Fontaine - has dismissed reports she plans to flee the UK after the negative reaction she has received from the public.
Writing on her twitter page, she said: "I have to laugh, apparently now i'm 'fleeing' to the US!c'mon give us a break!! Stop writing all this nonsense!!it hurts!! (sic)"
