Producers of 'Daybreak' have conducted a secret online poll to gather viewers' opinions on under-fire presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley.

Worried ITV1 bosses could be plotting a radical shake-up of the troubled breakfast show after they sent selected fans a "Viewback" survey to give the former 'One Show' hosts scores out of 10.

The pair originally attracted 1.5million viewers at the breakfast show's launch two months ago, but the public have since switched off in their droves with viewing figures slumping to just 500,000.

Viewers are now being asked to score "presenter chat and banter" in terms of whether "it doesn't work" or "works really well".

A source said: "It's surely no coincidence that this survey comes before they are planning to change things.

"It's a bit embarrassing to be rated out of 10 for the presenters, especially in terms of their so-called banter, and they must be hoping that the viewers will not give them low marks. It would be impossible to ignore what people have to say."

However, some fans believe Christine's romance with England and Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard has had an effect on her relationship with Adrian.

An insider added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Now she's got a boyfriend the chemistry is not the same, and Adrian seems even grumpier."
