'Doctor Who' star Matt Smith has revealed he has to wear a ''hoodie and a pair of shades'' to go out to the shops since he landed the role of the Time Lord in the BBC One sci-fi show.

Matt Smith has to wear a "hoodie and a pair of shades" to buy a pint of milk since he landed the lead role in 'Doctor Who'.

The 28-year-old actor admits he has been astonished by the public's positive reaction to him since he stepped inside the TARDIS as the Time Lord in the BBC One sci-fi show.

He said: "Walking down the street to buy a pint of milk is now a very different experience from what it was two years ago. Nothing can really prepare you for such a dramatic change in your life. People come up to me 50 times a day. How do I deal with it? I wear a hoodie and a pair of shades and I keep my head down. But I knew what I was entering into. Celebrity is just part of the remit and is a small price to pay when you get to run around time and space every day! People feel very affectionate towards the programme because it has such a heritage in our culture."

Meanwhile, fans of the series now have the chance to buy preview tickets for the upcoming 'Doctor Who Experience'.

The attraction - will allows visitors to pilot the TARDIS and also fight the Time Lord's arch-enemies the Daleks - is going to open at London's Olympia on the 17th, 18th and 19th February 2011 ahead of the official public opening on the 20th February.
