Channel 4 is developing a new music series for unsigned talent with website Bobcom.

The TV channel is developing the four-part series with the website - which provides a forum for new and undiscovered artists to get together and debate or sell their music directly to fans -which will explore the regional music scenes across the UK.

The series will visit Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast and Nottingham, where a celebrity host will look into each city's music scene, sit with local bands, watch them perform and offer advice.

Neil McCallum, Head of Channel 4's T4, said: "We're delighted to be working with the Bobcom.com team and creating four compelling programmes coaching opinion and presenting some of the UK's freshest music.

"The ambition for these programmes, along with the creative potential of the site is really exciting and we can't wait to set out on the journey together."

The shows - which are yet to be titled - are expected to air next year.

The Bobcom website was launched this week in London, and was supported by a host of established musicians, including DJ Annie Nightingale, Radio 1's Greg James and bands Mystery Jets, Morning Parade and Diagram of the Heart.
