Katie Waissel 'not a fake'
'X Factor' hopeful Katie Waissel has hit back at claims she is ''a fake'' and insisted while she may not be the best singer in the world, she is a genuine person
'X Factor' hopeful Katie Waissel has insisted she is not "a fake".
The controversial 24-year-old contestant - who has twice found herself in the bottom two after failing to endear herself to the public - has admitted while she isn't the most talented singer in the world, she is not "an actress" and the person viewers are seeing on the ITV1 show is the real her.
Speaking in a video blog, she said: "It was a difficult weekend. I'm not an actress, I'm not a fake and I've got no hidden agenda with anything . When I sing, take it for what it is.
"I know I'm not the best singer in the world but I have a passion and I really feel like I deserve to here."
Meanwhile, the Big Band week - an 'X Factor' favourite, which gives contestants the opportunity to perform alongside a full band - has been axed in a move which is said to favour young acts One Direction and Cher Lloyd.
Their respective mentors - Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole - were reportedly concerned their acts wouldn't be capable of singing an old-fashioned tune.
An insider revealed: "It could be a death knell to One Direction or Cher, whose main talent is rapping."
