Katie Waissel vows to carry on
'X Factor' hopeful Katie Waissel has vowed to carry on in the talent competition, ignoring calls from her family to quit following a string of panic attacks.
Katie Waissel has vowed to carry on in 'The X Factor', despite calls from her family to quit.
The controversial singer - who was placed in the bottom two for the second time on Sunday night (31.10.10) - has been urged by her concerned family to quit the ITV1 show after the fragile hopeful suffered from a string of panic attacks.
An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She's been a mess since Sunday. Katie was traumatised by being in the bottom two and isn't her usual self. Some of her family think it would be best if she left the competition now. But Katie isn't having any of it.
"Even though it is affecting her health she wants to try to turn things round. She knows despite all the problems the show is her best chance of success in the music business."
Despite her family's concerns, the 24-year-old blonde has said she is focusing on delivering her best possible performance in the hope of winning over the public on Saturday night's (06.11.10) show.
She tweeted: "I have a lot of hard work to do for this weekend and that's my main focus right now, to give you the best performance I can possibly give. (sic)"
Meanwhile, Cher Lloyd - who joins Katie, Rebecca Ferguson and Treyc Cohen in Cheryl Cole's mentoring category - has become a YouTube sensation, with views of her haunting performance of Shakespeare's Sister's 'Stay With Me' reaching 1.7 million in just four days.
Dubbed the "performance of the season" by music mogul Simon Cowell, some 20,000 people have been watching the 17-year-old hopeful's video every hour.
