Jessie Wallace's EastEnders fear
'EastEnders' actress Jessie Wallace has revealed she ''felt sick'' the day she returned to Albert Square to reprise the role of Kat Moon after five years spent away from the BBC One soap
Jessie Wallace "felt sick" the day she returned to the 'EastEnders' set.
The 39-year-old actress - who took a five-year break from the BBC One soap in 2005 - revealed it had been so long since she had played her feisty alter-ego Kat Moon she didn't think she would be able to portray the role again when she returned to the show this year.
She explained: "I didn't think I'd be able to play Kat again. It had been five years and I'd forgotten the way she speaks, the whole character, everything.
"On the first day, I felt sick. I put on Kat's make-up and clothes and I was walking to the set shaking, thinking, 'I don't think I can do this'."
However, Jessie admitted as soon as she set foot on Albert Square, she felt as though she was "home", and has loved playing mouthy Kat ever since.
She added to Buzz magazine: "As soon as I got onto the Square, that feeling just disappeared, it was weird. It was like, 'It's OK, I'm home now'. And that was it, I was Kat Slater again. It felt good.
"I'd forgotten how feisty she was, how mouthy. They've brought that back and a lot, lot more. I've not been back on screen long and I think I've already had six fights."
