An emotional Belle Amie exited 'The X Factor' last night (31.10.10) after Louis Walsh chose to take the sing-off against Katie Waissel to deadlock.

A tearful Belle Amie left 'The X Factor' last night (31.10.10) after receiving the lowest public vote.

The girl group - Sophia Wardman, Geneva Lane, Rebecca Creighton and Esther Campbell - were sent home from the competition after the judges chose to take the sing-off against Katie Waissel to deadlock after failing to come to an agreement on who should leave the show.

After a shaky rendition of Kelly Clarkson's 'Breakaway', Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell - who, as Belle Amie's mentor, is now down to just one act with his boyband One Direction - voted to save the girls, while Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue opted for a visibly shocked Katie Waissell.

Music mogul Simon said: "I'm really disappointed that both acts are here tonight. The amazing thing is that Katie you sing better in these things than in the main show. But I am 100 per cent going to stand by my girls."

After finding themselves in the bottom two for the second time, Belle Amie - who were created specifically for the ITV1 show - vowed to stick together as a band.

Esther said: "We are not giving up, this is not the end of Belle Amie. We have only been together for a couple of months but it has been amazing."

Meanwhile, controversial Katie - who performed an emotional rendition of Etta James classic 'Trust In Me' while barefoot - admitted despite finding herself in the bottom two for the second time in the competition, she has no plans to change her style to suit the public.

She explained: "The girls were amazing. I feel lucky. Honestly, I'm not surprised I was there. I'm a serious artist and I want to sing. Hopefully it won't happen again for a while. I'm just going to continue what I'm doing and hopefully people will like that."
