Nigel Havers has reportedly signed up to appear in 'I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here!'.
The 59-year-old actor - who attracted a legion of fans after playing smooth-talking gigolo Lewis Archer in 'Coronation Street'- is said to have been lined up by producers of the ITV1 show in the hope of pulling in older female viewers.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Nigel will be perfect for the show. He is a very popular actor who has never done anything like this before.
"He is really up for the challenge. He is known as being very smooth, but it will be interesting to see if he is able to keep that up in the pressure of the jungle environment."
Hosted by presenters Ant and Dec, this year's show - which kicks off in just two weeks - is also set to star sporting legend Linford Christie, last year's 'X Factor' finalist Stacey Solomon and TV personality Gail Porter.
Meanwhile, former Liberal Democrat minister Lembit Opik - who was once engaged to one of the Cheeky Girls - has also reportedly been signed up to star in the Australian jungle challenge.
