Ann Widdecombe to get on the floor

Ann Widdecombe will be dragged across the floor on 'Strictly Come Dancing' tonight (30.10.10).
The ex-politician will be the 'cape' in a rendition of the paso doble, in which her dancing partner, Anton Du Beke will play the role of matador.
She said: “The bull is somewhere unseen. We are taking it quite seriously but I am sure people will laugh at it. I think my paso doble is magnificent. But then that's famous last words and I will probably mess it up.
“It is very powerful. At least Anton's paso doble is very powerful. I am just trying to keep up with him.”
The same dance was famously performed by journalist John Sergeant when he appeared on the show in 2008, dragging partner Kristina Rihanoff behind him, a moment which earned him the nickname 'the dancing pig'.
Ann's performance on the show has been likened to that of John – who was a popular contestant and voted in week on week by the public, despite his bumbling routines, until he quit after ten weeks.
Ann- who last week appeared on the show descending onto the dancefloor on a wire to perform the tango – denied, however, that she will top her entrance by this week entering on a horse.
She said: “As a recent vice-president of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals I would never condone bringing a horse on to a brightly lit dancefloor.”
'Strictly Come Dancing' is on BBC1 tonight at 6.25pm.
