Ed Byrne plays warm-up gigs at Stand prior to spring tour

Observational Irish wit takes his spark and vitriol around Scotland

Ahead of a bumper spring tour, Mr Ed jaunts our way for some warm-up gigs down the old Stand. For those of a younger disposition, the boy Byrne used to have really long hair and was (probably still is) a huge Queen fan who got nominated by the Perrier panel back in the 90s and soon thereafter played some big gigs in the fancy chandelier-friendly space at the Assembly Rooms and the Edinburgh Playhouse. He’s done some mobile phone voiceover ads and made an ITV sitcom (ouch) with Davina McCall (double ouch), but we forgive him for all his sins as he returns to the place where he truly belongs. On a comedy stage.

The Stand, Glasgow, Sun 24 Oct; The Stand, Edinburgh, Tue 26 Oct.

Ed Byrne: Warming Up in the Cold

Likeable floppy-haired moppet Ed Byrne returns on a mission to turn into a grumpy old man par excellence. Religion, fatherhood, cake: you name it, he'll moan about it.

Ed Byrne: Crowd Pleaser

The observational Irish wit brings his sparky and vitriolic self to gigantic stages up and down the country in his latest tour.
