Spice Girls star Mel B claims to have had some ''very important meetings'' about a possible role on the US 'X Factor' and British version of the show
Mel B claims to have had "very important meetings" about a role on the US 'X Factor'.
The Spice Girls star is reportedly in talks about joining both the American and British versions of the show, but has refused to discuss the size of the potential job role.
She apparently told DailyStar.co.uk: "I've had some very important meetings.
"I'm not going to be the one to spoil anything for fans. We're going to have to wait and see what unfolds."
Simon Cowell plans to launch the singing show Stateside next year, although it is unknown which stars he wants to join him on the judging panel.
It is thought he wants a transatlantic team of judges, who will differ from the British version.
A source said: "He loves the idea of a transatlantic team being the core of both shows.
"Mel's star is very much on the rise again and Simon believes her cheerful but blunt and down-to-earth demeanour could win fans on both sides of the pond."
Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger is believed to be one of Simon's top choices, along with Cheryl Cole. However, sources believe Mel's participation could be "bad news" for Cheryl.
The source added: "Simon sees Mel as a key option for a judging spot here. But it could be bad news for Cheryl."
