John Adeleye 'surprised' by X Factor boot
'X Factor' reject John Adeleye admits he was surprised to have been booted from the show last night (24.10.10), because he thought his performance was ''good''.
John Adeleye was "surprised" to be in the bottom two on last night's (24.10.10) 'X Factor'.
The 30-year-old star - who was booted from the show yesterday losing the sing-off against Treyc Cohen - admits he thought his performance on Saturday was "good" and had no idea he would be voted off.
Speaking ITV1's 'Daybreak' today, he said: "On Saturday I was surprised to be in the bottom two, I was surprised Treyc was in the bottom two to be honest with you. I thought Saturday was a good show and thought I did well.
"I just didn't know what was going to happen, so the fact is I was quite overwhelmed to be in that position up against Treyc Cohen, who I think is a fantastic singer. It was always going to be difficult for me."
John was mentored by boy band manager Louis Walsh in his Over 28s category and admits he was unsure of the song'Zoom' by Fat Larry's Band, which he performed on Saturday, and 'Because Of You' by Kelly Clarkson, which he sang for survival last night.
He said: "I don't think the song was best suited to me, I could have represented myself a little better maybe. But at the end of the day I felt like I was proud to be there, and I got that far in the first place so I was just happy to get there.
"I'm still reflecting on everything, it's one of the toughest things to be told that you have to go home when you want something so bad. But I've got to really just be positive now."
