Katie Waisell impresses on 'X Factor'
Katie Waisell recovered from her midweek collapse with a high energy performance of 'King of the Swingers' on 'The X Factor' last night (23.10.10).
Katie Waisell wowed the judges and audience with a fun, flirty performance on the 'X Factor' last night (23.10.10).
The unpopular contestant - who had worried her mentor Cheryl Cole earlier this week when she collapsed during a trip to a Topshop store in central London - put her troubles behind her with an energetic performance of 'King of the Swingers' from The Jungle Book.
Judge Louis Walsh said: "This is the real Katie. She sang, she danced, she entertained and she's got the X Factor. I loved it."
Simon Cowell added: "You genuinely deserve to be here."
Brazilian contestant Wagner embraced the Guilty Pleasures themes with a medley of 'Spice up your Life' and 'Livin' La Vida Loca'.
Cheryl Cole said: "There was a lot of guilty going on. I don't know if there was a lot of pleasure for me."
However mentor Louis defended his act saying: "He's not the best singer in the competition, but he is entertaining."
Aiden Grimshaw - who has been backed as one of the favourites to win the show - bounced back from last week's disappointing performance of 'Jealous Guy' with a widely praised rendition of 'Diamonds are Forever'.
Meanwhile Simon branded fellow judge Louis "nasty, unpleasant and bitchy" after he accused Simon of favouring boyband One Direction over girlband Belle Amie.
Speaking of the girls' decision to sing 'I'll Stand By You' instead of Simon's choice, he said: "Simon is putting all his energies into One Direction and it's not fair. That's why you picked that song. It wasn't a great song choice."
'The X Factor' results will air tonight on ITV, where there will be a single eviction.
