'Dumbo' dancer Ann Widdecombe
Former politician Ann Widdecombe think she will look like Dumbo when she ''flies on 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Ann Widdecombe thinks she'll look like Dumbo when she "flies" on 'Strictly Come Dancing' tomorrow (23.10.10).
The former politician is to be strapped to a harness for the ballroom dance show tomorrow and lifted into the air during her routine with professional partner Anton Du Beke, where she claims she looks like a flying elephant.
Discussing the stunt - which has never before happened on the show - she said: "Well there's always something called a first time. And the fact is, even Dumbo managed to fly so even though I am an elephant on the dance floor - I can still fly!"
Despite being excited about the challenge, Ann admits the harness can be painful.
When 'This Morning' host Eamonn Holmes asked if it hurts her, she said: "Yes, I know exactly what you're asking and yes, it is uncomfortable. And of course when you come out of it, you only come out of the upper bits, you remain in the lower bits for the rest of the dance so its quite an uncomfortable experience but never mind I shall enjoy it - the experience, not the discomfort."
Ann also joked she would be performing under "royal command", following revelations Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is a huge fan of hers.
She added: "When I do what it is I'm going to do tomorrow night, it will be by royal command!"
